Description:

Poor lifestyle choices are often at the root of modern chronic diseases. In fact, many of the leading causes of death in U.S. adults are moderately to strongly influenced by lifestyle patterns and behavioral factors.1

Lifestyle medicine is a fast growing field of medicine focused on using lifestyle intervention for the treatment, management and prevention of disease. These interventions center on the individual’s nutrition, exercise habits, stress management, smoking cessation and a variety of other non-drug modalities.

Join us to hear from Dr. John Kelly, Jr., and Dr. James Loomis, Jr., two prominent thought leaders in lifestyle medicine, as they share their personal journeys in living and practicing this work.

Learning Objectives:
How lifestyle medicine enables physicians to prevent and treat chronic disease often more effectively and less expensively than drugs and surgery
2. How deploying the science of health behavior change can get patients more engaged in maintaining and improving their own health
3. How physicians can begin incorporating the tenets of lifestyle medicine into their own practices
